Premiere of “Wanted” @ The Pavillion.

Posted in Uncategorized on June 27, 2008 by Shahrill Ramli

Yesterday was the premiere day of Angie’s new movie entitled “WANTED.” It’s one of the most anticipating movie for Angie’s fans who surely misses those ass-kicking scenes; fresh from the “Tom Raider” franchises. Went to see the movie at Pavillion with Kat; what can I say? It was AMAZING!!! ; not to say kinda gruesome (for some people) and Angie’s gotta flaunts her real side. Outta 5 stars, I give 3.5 stars! But seriously, those who are not into bloody scenes and faint-hearted are advised NOT to watch tis’ movie.

James Avery is excellent as the nerd-who-turn-to-be bloodbath killer and his expression dealing with anxiety attack is tremendous! And by the way, he did great job with the American accent (He’s a Scottish for Godsake!). Morgan Freeman is not being fully utilized but his presence left impressive aura. While of course Angie’s potrayal as Fox is simply a breeze for her. By the way, she did all the stunts by HERSELF! On whole, the movie is not a cliche story and you can’t expect what’s coming next. Nonetheless, NOT RECOMMENDED FOR FAINT HEARTED!

I Lost My EX5 Bike!!! : Somebody’s Gonna Be Shot!

Posted in Uncategorized on June 24, 2008 by Shahrill Ramli

I simply CAN’T BELIEVE what happened tis’ morning! The most thing I’ve been dreading finally happening to me. MY BIKE HAS BEEN STOLEN! This is one shetty thing that happened and kind struck me..bewildered and clueless for a moment. Ada pakcik n makcik yang familiar di area Apartmen Sri Tanjung tuh also were kinda shocked and began to thunder me with lotsa questions. Yalah, turun2x aja, motor dah hilang. Dahla tempat yg sama selalu parked n pakcik dan makcik tu pun memang selalu bertembung muka with me la every morning! I guess they will then be telling another familiar pakcik who then I expect will be interrogating me whenever he sees me, I expect.

I dunno whether to yell or to scream. Things happened and that time I know that whatever I’m to do will not change anything. But of course being me, I need the urge to SIPHON OUT everything. So on the way tumpang Kakak n Abg Zam (Putrajaya first then via Abg Zam’s bike to KL), I’ve been SMS-ing Kareena, Kat @ Kathleen, Linda, Regie, Khirwan (tak balas!!!), Zhafry (tak balas!!!), Muzem (*on the way nak gi maktab?*pengsan!!! Thanks for the comforting reply) and Azmir (I then baru teringat that he’s in Australia now! But at least he REPLIED although he’s NOT in Malaysia!).

I never thought that last nite will be my last nite riding of the red EX5. I went to KLIA to buy plane ticket nak balik Jitra tis weekend. Last nite I was kinda WILD sebab jalan kat Putrajaya pun tak banyak sangat kereta so speed jer la 90-100km/j (LOL, i know it’s slow in comparison to the rempits!). It was simply ethereal to ‘menghirup udara malam.’ But i never thought that that was the last time. I’ve yet to report sebab kalao stay kat rumah pun, Abg Zam n transport takde. Takkan nak charter taxi kot? Buang duit la plak…But, i don’t put high hope on getting back the EX5 =(

Anyway, since today we are to have Misha’s farewell party as well as coincedently Linda’s birthday, I think I ought not to miss these ones. Today is their BIG day and I should attend that, am I? Awww..am I a great friend or what?! LOL, just kidding. Neeway, just hope this whole drama will have a happy ending….YOU WISH!

P/S : What an ironic. Yesterday with the salary increment, and today..??! I have no trouble shooting those people who stole my bike!

Sweet Home Up North : A’int Feelin’ No Shy Y’all !

Posted in Uncategorized on June 22, 2008 by Shahrill Ramli

Sometimes what you are looking for is where you left it. The tagline of the movie “Sweet Home Alabama” is indeed very true and that’s why the movie is something that I’m so connected to. As an ambitious Southern Belle, Melanie Smother (she then changed it to Carmichael to suit her glamorous new life) proved that she had fulfilled the American Dream. She moved to New York, landed a career as a budding “Next-IT Girl- of Fashion Industry” and soon to be hitched with New York’s most eligible bachelor. Then again, there’s a skeleton in the closet. Melanie technically was still married to her white trash stubborn ass highschool sweetheart Jake. Off she went back to Alabama, her past life there; the life of farms, poultries, beers and of course the yankee-daddy-’ol! Despite initially she despised the country life she’s had long left behind, she soon comes to know that you can take the girl from the South, but you never can take the South from the girl.

With the Southern accents (those who are not familiar might have trouble understanding it;

  • Selalunya “father” disebut Pa atau sebutannya seolah-olah Paw;
  • “Lightning don’t usually strike twice” = Lite’nin’ don’t strai-ek too-waih;
  • “Don’t you talk to my mother like taht!“= Donccha talk to muh momma like tha’!”
  • “I am not going to put up with your stubborness” = “I ain’t gonna put up with your stupid ass!”
  • What kind of wife would I be if don’t take care of my husband?” = ‘Whut kayne oof waif wud I be if I dun tek ker oof mar howsben?”

It’s an honest piece and it reminds me of myself. No matter where I go, I will always have my heart back to the Up North; the accent of the Orang Utara will always be my pride. Like in the movie “Sweet Home Alabama” where few people make fun of Melanie’s THICK southern accent, I’m like totally embrace that. My northern accent is something that I’m always proud of (but of course when you are speaking with people out from your region, you shed the accent so that they won’t have difficulties understanding!).

You can take the child outta North, but you can’t take the North outta child. =)

Facades & Faces Frenzies : “Everybody’s Fool.”

This is yet another old song I recollected from my ole’ days (now baru nak download free hehee). Evanescence has always come up with brilliants songs ..and not to mention their EVERY VIDEO CLIPS! Always there’s meaning behind each videos. I really like the song “Everybody’s Fool” by Evanescence; depicting the fake life of a celebrity. Well, I guess Britney-”Oh-I’ve-Gone-Bald-And-Shown-My-V-JJ-Snapped-By-Paparazzi” Spears fanatic fans can compare the life of their idol with tis’ videoclip. I guess in a way, every celebrities (female) do feel the pressure to every lookin’ great. The moral of the story is : CELEBRITIES AIN’T AS ANGELIC AS THEY MAY SEEM. THERE’S HIDDEN SECRETS BEHIND THAT IMAGE. They are human anyway. But of course, I don’t deny that cosmeticized public image sells. *wink*wink.

The lyrics is so deep (make an effort to read the lyrics rather than simply listen without udnerstanding the meaning! *ouchh!*) and very meaningful. I think I can also relate to the piece of the lyrics to my those good ole’ adolescent days.. those days when I actually LAMENT TO MY MOTHER THAT I’M UGLY! (dramatic, ain’t it?Sheesh!!) – It’s my latest theme song in virtual pages anyway! Friendster & Tagged!

Stephen King’s “Pet Sematary.”

Posted in Uncategorized on June 18, 2008 by Shahrill Ramli

I’ve recently finished reading the latest book I bought. It’s the Stephen King’s “Pet Sematary.” What can I say? This book reflects King’s incredible piece of mind, being channeled upon transcription of writing one can’t help but amazed by that. I would say I enjoyed the book and have no qualm of hailing it as the best book written by Stephen King (even when it’s to be compared with other Stephen King’s legendary novels such as “IT” and “The Dark Half.”). Loosely, it is about the existence of a land belonged to the American Indians of the MicMac tribe which was believed to have magic to bring people back from the dead. The land is situated in the inner side of a wood near a place called Pet Sematary in a town called Ludlow. A doctor named Louis Creed with his wife, Rachel and 2 children, Ellie and Gage happened to moved from Chicago to the secluded provincial town of Ludlow; it’s so happened that their house is situated right at the outskirt of Pet Sematary.

Things turned ugly when Ellie’s cat named Church was found dead and soon after that, Gage was rammed by a chemical truck in front of their house. The distraught Louis Creed lost his rationale; dug up Gage’s grave and burried the lil’ boy’s body in the MicMac sacred place in the wood. Church and Gage did come back from the dead, but only to be turned into evil things.

It’s kinda sad that the story ended with a sad finale. But I’ve to say this book is HOT! For more sypnosis of the book ( and spoiler!), go to : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pet_Sematary

“So You Think You Can Dance?” Showcase @ Midvalley With Kathleen.

Posted in Uncategorized on June 15, 2008 by Shahrill Ramli

Of lately, I always been spending my weekends at home at Bandar Baru Bangi or goin back to Jitra, Kedah. When you are working your ass throughout the whole 5 working days of the week, you tend to savour every opportunies you have to rest and laze around. Goin back to hometown Jitra (not really my hometown anyway!) is sorta a rehab for me to escape the hulaballo life of cosmopolitan and very therapeutic.

Anyway, I went out with Kathleen Nandong aka Kat (ahha, the One Third of the “D” Club! LOL) yesterday. It’s been ages since we were like going out (everyone’s busy. Tight schedule and everything). It’s nice to update each other’s life and laughing out loudly at the Pizza Hut (on her of course! LOL, thanks Kat!!!!!). Gosh, miss those days back at USM when the three of us; Me, Kat & Efy wandering around Penang, had these numerous NIGHT-WALKINGS! and of course the memorable events of MEMANJAT PAGAR USM due to curfew! Hahhaha. Coincidently, ada this showcase reality tv show called “So You Think You Can Dance?” at Midvalley. It was ncie seeing those contestants strutting their stuffs (hahhaa, me & Kat were like almost shakin’ ours! LOL). I don’t follow the programme so I wouldn’t know any of the contestants. But to cap it all, the moves are groovingly hot!

A Defensive Childlike Retaliates : Wrongfully Accusing.

Posted in Uncategorized on June 14, 2008 by Shahrill Ramli

Yesterday, something quite funny happened!LOL, it wasn’ THAT funny when it happened though. I was riding the motorcycle and like usual, I prefer to open up the viser (is this how it’s spelled? the penutup muka helmet tu). It was at the street in front of KLCC that suddenly, OUT OF THE BLUE, a LARGE-SOMETHING hit my face! Ouch, that’s hurt! I was shocked as well as got pissed off. I mean, DUH~! It’s morning and people get cranky when things go wrong early in the morning, don’t they?!!!

Feeling rather crossed and face kinda redden (it hurts!), I saw this one particular motorcyclist with his friend I guess (membonceng motorsikal) in front of me. Seems like as if they were holding something and my mind instantaneously speculating that these BRATS must have eathen some seedy fruits and recklessly threw the seed and …yeah, the seed landed on my cheek HARD! Without thinking (which was rather stupid), I sorta confronted them at the traffic light.

“Apa ni makan-makan buang biji merata-rata? Tak tau adab ke???”!!

It then occurred to my mind that maybe I got the wrong people. Maybe it wasn’t any seed . Maybe it was merely some big debris or stones accidentally got flown off because some big lorries or buses. SHIT !! As soon as the traffic light turned GREEN, I rocketed my motor leaving those two guys bewildered, rather stunned (LOL!).

During breakfast on the 18th floor yesterday, I told Regie, Naim and Fathiyah. They were like laughing like hell and..yeah, I know it’s kinda stupid. LOL.. But that’s me. Wild Heart. Kept In Cage.

Phoenix Sings From The Ashes : Innocent Eyes Blindfolded.

Posted in Uncategorized on June 10, 2008 by Shahrill Ramli

The Malaysian political atmosphere has gone into the uncertanties these days. Right after the recent poll, it is crystal clear where everyone’s stance lies; reflected upon the victory of 5 states to the opposition. I rarely speak vocally on politics or religion as I find those topics are tender and delicate among us, Malaysians. Am I an ardent fan of the opposition? Or am I the most loyal civilian who entrust faith to the exisiting Government? NO SIRE! I ain’ t both but I’m about to voice an opinion now.

The recent topsy turvy of the political atmosphere has causing much dismay to the common people; including us the ignorants of the whatevermacchallit. Today, I read the much publicized blog of our former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. Truth hurts, I would say. His writing exposes the bad and the ugly conspiracies of the Bureaucracy. I guess, it’s time for ignorant Malaysians to really open up those blindfolded eyes. Leaders are elected to protect the welfare of the people; not for them! DO NOT MISUSE PEOPLE”S MONEY…all I can say. For more juicy readings, go to Tun’s offical blog : http://www.chedet.com/

New Door Opens. We Close The Ones Behind.

Delta Goodrem is the pop princess of Australia. Apart from the good voice, she’s also a nice eye-candy to look at! These days, she graces the pop tart mags about her relationship with ex-Westlife member (I dunno, forget the name. Brian something) and also her battle with cancer. She had this one song called “Not Me, Not I” which I was really taken by the piano background. Really soothing… The song is an old single (if I’m not mistaken around 2003= it was aired at MTV like crazy at that time). I’m not sure whether Malaysians listen to her as much as we tend to embrace UK singers (who are less popular in comparison to US counterparts!), but her song is quite nice. Deep lyrics, I would say.

To hear the song, you can go to my Friendster page or google. The song is actually penned by Gary Barlow (Take That) and Miss Goodrem herself. I like review written by Wikipedia on this song : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_Goodrem

NOT ME, NOT I  BY DELTA GOODREM”

You mixed me up for someone
Who’d fall apart without you
Yeah you broke my heart for the first time
But I’ll get over that too
It’s hard to find the reasons
Who can see the rhyme?
I guess that we where seasons out of time
I guess you didn’t know me

If you think love is blind
That I wouldn’t see the flaws between the lines
Surprised that I caught you out
On every single time that you lied
Did you think that every time I see you I would cry
No not me, not I, not I, no not me, not I

The story goes on without you
And there’s got to be another ending
But yeah you broke my heart it won’t be the last time
But I’ll get over them too
As a new door opens we close the ones behind
And if you search your soul I know you’ll find
You never really knew me
