This week, the last week before Ramadhan proves to be yet another dramatic one (like usual, sigh!). On Monday, the English Panels (Panitia Bahasa Inggeris) organized a pre-farewell get together for the UNISEL trainees at KFC Rawang. My school English Panel has always been a funky yet professional in working. It’s nice to be able to work with all my English Panel sisters and learn from them. They are always generous in helping me mastering the arts of teaching English yet very sporting and happy go-lucky.
On yesterday, Friday 6th August 2010, few senior colleagues conducted a Pot Luck and also co-celebrating birthday of Kak Kam & Kak Yati. Foods like “Nasi Impit”, buns-with-sausages, Singapore beehoon, fried macaronis, “rambutan” and “langsat” were few delicacies and fruits served. It was indeed mouth-watering affair! While eating, Kak Tini, Cikgu Wazir, Cikgu Shazrul & I were talking and suddenly stories about mysticism popped out. My school has always known for its mystical creatures dwelling in various part of school buildings. Ustaz Kamaruzzaman is said to have locked ‘them’ in some compartments and rooms. And so happen with the school area is on a hilly ground, it makes a perfect lair for the creatures to dwell in.
As a Moslem, it is one of the pillar of faith to believe on the existence of mystical beings or ‘ghaib’. That is why I never boast on this thing and always pray to Allah SWT to protect my eye-sight from seeing these things. I am not a curious cat and neither has the ‘peacock pig-headed’ attitude. Never mess up with supernatural forces. Respect them, we must. Anyway, chain of mystical stories started to unravel from the Qiyamulail Night ( last week!), early in the morning in Teachers’ Room, being perched on the mystical being-and-ginger-is-used-to-get-rid-of-the-evil-spirit, having the same nightmare while being ‘perched on’ and many more! The stories do make my hair stands and can’t help imagine them. I honestly feel like I am now in a sequence of “Spirited Away.” I just hope I won’t encounter with one of them. Ya Allah!
At first, I planned to spend weekend at Serendah since I have to replace a teacher to teach Science Year 6 for BAKSI tuition. But we only plan and God’s will is the ultimatum. So happen, that around 5 P.M. after I woke up from my nap, the electricity has gone, like always in Serendah! It always takes quite a while for the electricity to resume and with the mystical stories still freshly lingering in my head, I spontaneously plan to go to Putrajaya and come back to Serendah just in time to teach at 10.30 A.M. tomorrow(Saturday)! I wouldn’t risk myself to be in the pitch-dark night!
In Putrajaya, I had nightmare last night around 2.30 P.M. and couldn’t sleep after that. The mystical stories were vivid in my head (some who read this might be laughing but it’s just not funny when you were in the situation!) and I couldn’t close my eyes to resume sleep. Woke up to the kitchen and I noticed I am alone in the first floor. Try to resume sleep back but prove to no avail. At last; by putting my embarrassment aside, I knocked Kakak’s door and sleep with Kakak, Abg Zam & Rifqi!!! I know it sound funny when you read this but it wasn’t in that time because what happened in the school was so close to me in my surrounding and when you hear that, it makes you chill-to-the-bone. It’s supernatural forces. Ghaib. The existence is mysterious yet they are with us. And that is unnerving. Really unnerving.
An addition to the drama; today, on the way to Serendah; just after I entered the ELITE highway, my motorcycle a.k.a. Kris Jenner (I named it/her after Kim Kardashian’s mother. Love the programme and as my motor is of Kris brand) tyre punctured! OH MY GOD! Luckily I didn’t go that far. By hook or by crook, I had to U-turned back to Putrajaya. Luckily it was the hind-tyre so I still can drive the motorcycle albeit slowly and shakily! At first, I thought I had to find a shop in Bangi and so happened that after I arrived at Precint 14, Abg Zam told me that there is a workshop in nearby Precint Diplomatic. Thank God! The Apek was friendly and his customer service is good. TQ so much Apek/ Uncle. But anyway it was too late for me to push off to Serendah for the tuition. So, I msg-ed Kak Lin although feel kinda bad for that.
And as I am writing this, I am having continuous and endless flu/cold/running nose from this morning! Panadol Soluble and Abg Zam’s tablet for running nose still couldn’t alleviate it. Possibly a viral infection? I don’t know. Getting lethargic…. sigh.
