“Maulidur Rasul” or loosely translated as the birth of Messenger of Allah SWT for this year fell on Tuesday, 15th February; marking the historical 12th Rabiulawal. As the last prophet amongst the 25 Chosen Ones (prophets) right from the lineage of Prophet Adam A.S. (Adam), the forefather of the human race to Prophet Isa A.S. (Jesus), Muhammad SAW- a mere man was chosen as the Last Shepherd; not to preach his own philosophical theories, but merely imparted the dogmatic revelation he was told by God SWT with the intermediary of Archangel Jibril A.S. (Gabriel).
Anyway, so happened that Valentine’s Day was around the corner; merely a day before the anticipating day (14th February). As of lately, the ignorant Moslems youngsters who like to be perceived as ‘modern’ and aspiring-to-be-Westerner-Wannabe-but-in-reality-are-just-foolish-and-stupid see Valentine’s Day as the day for liberal sexual escapades and a day ‘to prove my love to thee’. Because of this stupidity, sexual escapades sky-rocketing high during Valentine’s Day and those Moslem youngsters are no exceptional. This what ring the alarms to the clerics committees who are very concern with this unhealthy matter and thus, launched antivalentinism-campaign. The intention is pure and noble because it is to cleanse the bad influences from the Islamic community; nonetheless to preach the relevance of it by bashing other religion is clearly insensitive, for me.
If you ask me, I support 100% with the campaign as it is not my nature or my upbringing to celebrate Valentine’s Day and I also support 100% of what the clerics committees and organizations have done by launching the antivalentinism campaign. NONETHELESS, I oppose the insensitivity act of affiliating other religion as the CAUSE for all these sexual escapades in preachings or sermons. Those happen because of STUPIDITY; not because of THEOCRACY. I hope nobody will misunderstand this as an act of kufr. I am just being honest and living in a multiracial and mutireligion society makes me very concern over delicate issues. But of course, Islam has always being the one who everybody likes to regard as the scapegoat- For example, the insensitive and narrow-minded ex Singapore Prime Minister, Lee Kuan Yew unabashedly blamed Islam for problems in integration process.!! Well, the stupid and ignorant heathens play fire, why should we play fire? We give them rains of snow. The fire will die, soon (,”).
OK, back to my social calendar. With that one day off during “Maulidur Rasul”, I take the day as an opportunity to explore the beaches and gulfs scenes at Port Dickson. It was indeed tranquil place with tourism business booming immensely. You can see that there are hotels, motels, chalets and homestay in every nook and cranny you go! Besides that, Port Dickson has been herald as The Town Of Malaysian Military/Army; so the scenes of seeing countless army camps scattered is just ubiquitous! The lagoons and the sandy beaches are serene (Tanjung Biru ; Blue Lagoon) and also had the chance to explore the Portuguese-built lighthouse at Cape Rachado (Tanjung Tuan) which happen to be an exclave of Melaka province in Negeri Sembilan! The blue-yonder scenery was breathtaking; seeing ships sailed across the ocean from the topmost part of lighthouse and cliff- I felt like I was in Bali! Subhanallah!
Around 4.30 P.M., pushed off back to Kuala Lumpur and managed to visit the magnificent Malaysian Islamic Arts Museum at Lake Gardens, near the Islamic complex and National Mosque. Breathtaking relics and antiquated treasures from the Islamic empires are exhibited and replicated in the most beautiful way ever! Kudos to Malaysians for able to come up with this type of museum! I have to say that, it was a worthy visit to see the lineage tapestry of Islamic empires in different parts of continents around the globe (India, China, Turkey, Spain, Arab, etc!)
On whole, I think that the more journeys I take, the wider my horizon would become. Like I said, I have make a promise to make myself amenable to explore and see the world by traveling either locally or abroad; just to give myself chance to experience the various cultural-tasting as well as to open my eyes about the world as it; not to be entrapped in the chrysalis world of my own forever. Alhamdulillah, safe journey y’all.
