Yes, I am a self-confessed Tinseltown and Hollywood freak. I have strong affinity to the what’s-going-on-in-Tinseltown. Histories of Hollywood cinemas are what I can say is an easy breath for me (mostly!) and names of actors or actresses since the glamorous Old Hollywood and their famous artsy repertoires is my forte, I can say. Therefore, the highlight event of the year which is The Academy Awards is like a red-letter day for me, though unfortunately I worked and I don’t have ASTRO to watch it live.
Black Atelier Versace.
These days, ASTRO, the Malaysian paid-cable television programmes owns the rights to broadcast the event live from Hollywood. I don’t install ASTRO because I don’t think it’s necessary and I don’t really watch television; even the free channels are immersed with good programmes. But of course, it’s a pain-in-the-ass to know that you can’t watched one of your most anticipating events in television. But, oh well….
Best Picture for 84th Academy Awards : “The Artist”
The winner for Best Picture is “The Artist” – a French-made movie which chronicles about the era of silent movies; in fact the movie itself is said to be of silent movie as well; so I guess the artistry quality is being recognized after all. Best Actor goes to the “The Artist” main actor, the French Jean Dujardin as well as for Best Director; also won by “The Artist” batch which is Michael Hazanavicius.
Jean Dujardin having a congratulatory peck with Michael Hanavicius.
The impeccable Meryl Streep won her 3rd Oscar via 17th nominations throughout her entire life! OH MY GOD, she is so good! She won it via her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in “The Iron Lady” – a biopic film about the Great Britain’s famous ex-Prime Minister. Octavia Spencer on the other hand, won the “Best Supporting Actress” accolade for her straight-talking African-American maid character via “The Help”. So far, I’ve read the reviews for both of these women and mostly are positive! I can’t wait for the movies.
The legendary Meryl Streep. Amazing!
AND; the juiciest of all is of course the presence of Angie as one of the presenters. She donned a black Atelier Versace (she has great chemistry with that label I guess because she keeps donning the label. Oh well…) and a split thigh which caused a raving excitement uproar as she purposely posed by showing her thigh on the stage while presenting the award. Hahahahhaa! That is not the usual Angie; but I guess this time, she unleashes her wild side. After all, the dark side has long being caged, innit? Hahahahhaa!
On the red carpet.
On the stage!
Well, nothing could beat that – even the so-called J.Lo’s nipples-peekaboo or Billy Crystal kissing George Clooney’s opening montage.
J.Lo’s dress malfunction? A purposely-tailored illusion?? Eeeek!
Billy Crystal kissed by George Clooney in the opening montage. Girls around the world must be envious towards Crystal! LOL!
Among the fashionistas so-called. I like their acting more, but no harm’s done watching them : Michelle Williams, Penelope Cruz & Gwyneth Paltrow.
Angie. She’s one inspiring and cool soul. Hot but cool. (,”)
