“Matahari Masih Jingga. Menyala Cinta Bagai Bara.”
This week has been quite a topsy tursy (to begin with!); i’m actually ‘stealing time’ baru balik dari kerja sebab hari ni lambat sgt lepas meet up with Mrs Jasbir regarding about jobs-preference (later explained) and our overall marks.
Attachment yg terakhir before this programme training habis ialah di Treasury Department. Well, as for Affin Bank itself, the department is divided into 3 sections :-
- front desk,
- back office,
- middle office.
The front desk yg comprises oleh FOREX dealers, money market dealers, dll is like the luxurious & glamorous setting (but yeah, it comes with the pressure as well!). I have yet to be attached kat sana (tomorrow) sebab so far for the last 2 days ni, attached kat back office with Fathia & Rashid; together with Rina, Muna “Moan” (hahaha!) and Regina. Back office is where the operational side of the FOREX (Foreign exchange) or Money market dealings yg di-secured oleh dealers are handled! This side kinda “not-so-lavish” la in comparison dengan bahagian dealers (well, they make money to coax the customers, aint they?). Middle office is the ‘library’: very peaceful…..zzz.
There are so many things I’ve learnt sepanjang 4 bulan training ni and bahagian treasury ni bagi saya agak menarik. Saya tahu serba sedikit sekarang (yer sikit je) about foreign currency exchange; macam mana nak convert currency matawang asing; how the bank make money outta money market & foreign exchange (by charging additional value a.k.a. additional ‘pips’) and many more! Tadi jumpa Mrs Jasbir and I’ve told her that I’m very much going to list out my preference according to this :-
- Corporate Communication
- Contract Financing
- Trade Financing @ Credit Risk
Why corporate communication? becoz I know i can excel if i go to the non-business side. But of course I’m not gonna put high hope on that as vacancy is very scarce (hardly! satu jer kot!) and there are other eligible candidate for that~. Contract Financing is adventurous as it liases with Goverment & GLCs. Tapi, risks like payment risk tu memang dah tak payah pikir la…Trade Financing plak menarik sebab banyak facilities for Import-Export and involve procedures & documents yg menarik (tapi memeningkan juga); tedious and sebarang ralat will cause penalty yg membahayakan bank’s financial status (and urself as well!!!). *I’m so confuse*.. After this training, I don’t think I’m into Relationship Manager (RM); the frontliners. You have to have some kinda ATTITUDE and boldness to become that. Of course you dine and party and entertain customers…but in the end you have to package facilities for your customer!~ Arghhhhh!~ I’m so in a whoopsi-daisy state of mind!!!!
