On Friday night, Abang Zam & Rifqi came back to Jitra via flight. My parents were understandably so excited seeing their grandson coming back! Hahaha the cheeky boy has become more boisterous than ever but we all adore him, don’t we? “Kungfu Panda 2” is in the cinema right now so I figure he must have liked animation film- with me wanting to see the film too, LOL!
So went to see the film at Jitra Mall and all the way, Rifqi couldn’t keep still, yapping and yapping loudly in the cinema until…. he finally dozed off! Hahahaha. But anyway, the film was great; saturated with all the spices one needs in a film – friendships, honours and also embracing yourselves to the fullest. It almost bring water to my eyes seeing the scene where Po’s mother abandoned him when he was a toddler-panda. I know it sounds a little bit corny and trivial, but animation does touch your inner souls; in the rightful hands of good directors!
With stellar star-studded voices like Jack Black (Po), Angie (Master Tigress), Jackie Chan (Monkey), Lucy Liu (Viper), Seth Rogen (Mantis), Dato’ Michelle Yeoh (SoothSayer), and Gary Oldman as Lord Shen the peacock- the new villain of the flick; the film lives up to the expectation. Vibrant colours with excellent storyboard, Dreamwork’s has proves that they are a force to be reckoned with in the animation features industry.
Right after the movie, we went for Char Kuey Teow dinner at the famous ‘Gani Char Kuey Teow’ near the YAWATA compound. Delicious as ever, char kuey teow needs to be eaten in a small potion, hot and with little bit of cockles and prawns- that should do the trick for a sumptuous one!
On Tuesday 7th which is today by the way, met up with Miss T; catching up whats-hot-and-nots albeit she is in a hectic schedule. Met up at “Tat Nasi Ayam” which is now somehow is revamped into “Wan Nasi Ayam” – a popular local hub for Nasi Ayam lovers and then proceeded to Jitra Mall for “X-Men : First Class”. Unfortunately, the cineplex there is not playing the film, so we went to Alor Star Mall for the flick. All I can say as an ardent X-Men freak, the movie was enjoyable BUT it doesn’t come to the par of my expectation. The director didn’t scrutinize in-depth the friendship between Magneto and Professor X; but both actors who played both roles, respectively Michael Fassbender & James McAvoy had done great portrayals for both. Nonetheless cameo appearances by Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and Rebecca Romijn(Mystique) were really good! Brief but nice stints!
Had cuppa coffees at Georgetown White Coffee resuming our chats and then called it off. And tomorrow, I am going back to Serendah, Hulu Selangor because on Thursday, all the teachers are slated to key-in the marks for their respective subjects. Holiday and celebration of birthday still continues ( anyway, I just had the opportunity only attending ONE wedding ceremony which was of my colleagues. I usually hate the wedding atmosphere; but, hey, whatever!); albeit smalls and close-knitted BUT, perpetual bliss. Insya ALLAH, always a perpetual bliss. Alhamdulillah.
