12th Rabiul Awal is here again. It’s a big day for Moslem around the world. No, we don’t worship the day or the person who owned the birth-date. We honoured him and elevated his position amongst us; but we NEVER worship him. The day is the celebration of birthday anniversary of the Last Messenger of God SWT – Prophet Muhammad SAW (Peace Be Upon Him).
Makkah, in the olden days.
Prior to the birth of Muhammad SAW, the Arabs in Mecca were infused in The Age Of Ignorance (Jahilliyah) where various idols were erected especially around Kaabah which was previously was erected by Prophet Ibrahim A.S. (Abraham). The Arabs had all deviated from the true teachings preached by the previous prophets and resorted into worshipping dead statues and statuettes – the most famous were Latta, Uzza and Hubal.
Al-Uzza. As depicted from Wikipedia.
Prophet Muhammad SAW was known to the Quraish community as “Al-Amin” (The One Who Speaks The Truth) long before he received the first revelation from ALLAH SWT. This implied good personality and character. And like the previous prophets before him, Prophet Muhammad SAW also had experience as a goat-shepherd when he was taken care by his foster-mother, Halimatus Saadiah.
Goat shepherd.
The western world always portrays Prophet Muhammad SAW as the epitome of women exploiter. But didn’t they scrutinize the canvas of historical facts that way before the arrival of Islam, the Quraish people were accustomed with the custom of killing their daughters – to avoid shame brought by the innocence souls merely on the basis of their gender???? Apparently NO.
Besides that, the fact that Prophet Muhammad SAW married a few numbers of women was exploited as scandalous affairs by the Islamic antagonists. But did they study the rationale? NO. Prophet Muhammad SAW married mostly the widows who have lost their husbands and to deprive them from poverty and hard lives as women without husbands during that particular time led difficult lives. BUT, why is that today, Moslem men are only allowed to marry 4? Because ALLAH SWT knows that men are prone to be defeated by Lust. And many Moslem men today marry more than one NOT because to help the unfortunate women; but merely to siphon out their lust!! With the intention not abided by Islamic faith but merely unquenchable humanistic instinct, a lot of BAD THINGS happen in the polygamous marriages – and THIS smear the sanctity of Islam!! Sigh….
Prophet Muhammad SAW is the finale of the 25th Prophets and various messengers chosen by ALLAH SWT. Yes, all prophets are messengers but not all messengers are Prophets. Most of the prophets were chosen from Bani Israel of the Hebrews; thus they feel they are the Chosen People. The Hebrews couldn’t bear to know that the anticipated Last Prophet was picked from Arab clan whereas they feel it was their RIGHT to be given that recognition. Although they were few numerological signs from the Jews and Christian scholars in that time conforming the signs of prophet-hood in Muhammad SAW long before the first revelation, the Non-Believers refuse to embrace it.
From Google Image. When is my time to visit Kaabah? Could it be next year? I don’t know; Wallahu’alam…Insya ALLAH.
Whetever it was and is, for Moslem, Prophet Muhammad SAW is the Seal Of The Prophets.
