Supersize ZERO and anorexia can be the figure that shallow-minded people thought as ideal. People who are conscious about how they look and those with low esteemed use various of ways and products to make them feel or look good (so, they assumed) and some go to the extend of jeopardizing their own health. And with highly-publicized news of Hollywood mothers and supermodels gaining the former size zero merely within short period of time – do not help to lay rest the popular-culture frenzy.
Aishwarya in Cannes Film Festival 2012.
BUT, not Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. As a former Miss World 1994 and the most recognizable Indian Face in the world, Aish is the epitome of beauty. Her curvaceous figure is the envy of women. Her bedazzling face is the yearn of men. But with all the saying that she being “The Most Beautiful Woman In The World”, she always remains dignified, grounded, traditional and unfazed with all the beauty accolades that people are showering her. She always stresses that beauty is always skin-deep; as cliche as it sounds (in most of her interviews) and this is now put in a test of which she is now handling it with dignified grace.
Aish wedded Abhishek Bachchan, the only son of Bollywood screen legend, Amitabh Bachchan in 2007. As a supercouple being dubbed as “Abhi-Aish”, coined with the similarity of Beniffer and Brangelina, their private lives as well as professional lives are scrutinized; especially in India where celebrities are equally idolized on par with politicians and rulers. After much speculations and rumours, Aish finally given birth to a girl on November 2011; named Aaradhya Bachchan.
Cannes 2009 & 2010.
Like any other mothers who gained weight, Aish put on weight due to the pregnancy and although it has been more than 5 months, the weight is still far from reduced and Indian presses are very keen in condemning her; as they are expecting Aish to follow suit her Hollywood peers such as Beyonce, etc. Rumors and bad articles are being published and of course, India presses can be cruel; so all the titles and topics are ruthless. As the International Face of Loreal, Aish has been a regular attendee of Cannes Film Festival for the past 11 years. Speculations are made that she won’t be attending the event due to her “oversize weight”.
Cannes 2003 & 2004.
But, she attended the event and was certainly unfazed with all the bad words craps about her weight. She said :
“This is reality. This is who I am. I am a mother and this can happen. And it happens to me and it’s fine. And that’s life. I’ve never been the one who endorsed size zero anyway. You guys speculated I was pregnant way before I was so many times. So it just goes to show that I have lived the real life in the public eye, and that continues. The haters are a drop in the ocean. And there are a lot of people out there who recognize that, see that and share that energy with me and that’s what matter. Reality.”
Certainly I salute her positivity and principles. It never been easy to become someone who is always being scrutinized; let alone someone who always live in public’s eye. And for her to come out like that and face it like it’s no big deal, is just amazing. She is someone who you can reckon as a strong-spirit, and I like that. I always like her interviews and how she handles questions and being politically-correct. Apt and diplomatic.
Sometimes when all your life you have been always lavished with compliments and admiration on your beauty and sugar-coated with saccharine words; it can be a refreshing side to go out from that cocoon and just being…. plain for a while. Being beautiful is hard. Public’s eye can be mean; underneath that adoration and obsession on you. (,”).
Like what in the novel “Memoirs Of A Geisha” stated- “Beauty, is a painful melancholy.”
