So, tomorrow the both anticipated and dreaded UPSR will commence. Hopefully that all the pupils will do the best especially my 6 Gallant on Science. Sometimes it is frustrating when they just being dilly-dallying whereas you as a teacher, you gives your full throttle efforts, energy and dedication. Then again, they are of the last class; but can that being taken as a token to let them excuse themselves of not performing their best? I hope not. Amin. My prayers are with the pupils although I on the other hand, has been entrusted to invigilate UPSR in another school. OK, end of story.
Anyway, on professional wise; working schedule has been very busy. Despite the chaotic nature, I managed to coach my class 5 Brilliant in Patriotic Song Choir Competition For Year 5. At last, all the nagging and mental-tormenting to the kids (hahaha!) were finally paid-off. We won! Initially, the kids wanted to belt out Faizal Tahir’s “Malaysia Satu” but I sensed that they were not ready and not in sync with the spirit of the song. An eleventh hour switch, I changed the song to “Jalur Gemilang”. An easy song to belt out and we just had to add creams to the dramatic essences. With Utba as the reincarnated Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj; Veeneesha donning her sexy Indian suit (kinda shocked as well) and additional of drumming beat before “MERDEKA” proclamation, we managed to top them all. Congratulations, kids! (,”)
My class 5 Brilliant. Veeneesha showing some of her grooves! Hahaha!
Utba as the reincarnated Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, Malaysia’s First Prime Minister proclaiming Independence! MERDEKA!
The drum beating by Julia. An additional cadence-rhythm to ignite suspense.
On top of that, on Friday night, I managed to catch “The Expendables 2”. With the ensemble casts of senior action heroes, it’s all great entertaining action-pack! Where on earth would you find film line-ups consisting Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham, Jean Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, CHUCK NORRIS (I like him!) and Arnold Schwazernegger??? AMAZING! The franchise is an indicator that the veterans are coming back to dominate the screen! Anyway, I heard the reasons why the film has Asians cast (Yu Nan as the Chinese CIA agent & jet Li; emrley a brief scene) simply because an Asian company co-produced the film and adamant in wanting ethnic-inclusion in the film. Hmmm…. And people actually quite shock when they knew the truth that Dolph Lundgren was actually a science genius with degree in biochemical engineering of some sort! I read Wikipedia A LOT and these action heroes WAY BEFORE Expendables. So I knew quite a lot about their biodata. Lesson to learn people; NEVER judge a person from the facade.
Arnold, Sylvester and Bruce….. Legends!
On whole, I enjoyed the film immensely! 3.5 stars out of 5!
Then, on Sunday, I went to watch “Bourne Legacy”. I wasn’t a Bourne aficionado but since that was the only movie available and suit the time at Pavillion so I’d just gave that a shot. On whole, having Jeremy Renner as Bourne instead of Matt Damon is pretty weird BUT the former didn’t totally fall out in his portrayal. I think he was OK. Nevertheless, Rachel Weisz as Dr. Martha Shearing is simply excellent. She had strong existence in the film and she is also a beautiful brunette! Despite being a “watchable” movie, it had a lot of ridiculous and illogical scenes. I give 3 stars outta 5.
Rachel Weisz & Jeremy Renner in Manila, Philippines!
As I am jotting this piece down, my body is lethargic, my head is drowsy and I am in no perky mood. Perhaps because I dread of executing my responsibility tomorrow; or Goodness Knows what. Above all, Sir wishes all Year 6 pupils in Sk Serendah a very GOOD LUCK for your UPSR!!!! Amin.
Chilling at Old Town White Coffee in Pavillion; while savouring my Coffee Bean’s caramel. Love it!
