FINALLY! The anticipated Oscar 2013 has cemented the verdicts. And of course as previous years, I didn’t have the chance to witness it, due to the fact of me working and not having ASTRO; Oh well, there’s always You-Tube these days!
Seth MacFarlene, the host for 2013 Oscar. He is kinda OK, ain’t he? Hahahahhaa! Not bad for a comic spinner!
So, congratulations to the golden girl Anne Hathaway for nailing Best Actress In Supporting Role. The role as Fantine, the single mother who was forced into prostitution and lamenting her emotions via “I Dreamed A Dream” had secured Hathaway in most; if not all; awards shows & what would be better than to finalize that with an Oscar after strings of award events, no? You know, I couldn’t help but to reminisce the days when Hathaway dated the Italian con-man, Raffaello Follieri; when she gushed about her newly-wed husband, Adam Shulman. Still, it’s just a mistake that can’t be erased; what we can do is to learn. I think I feel related to her in terms of committing mistakes and dark secrets; but hey; what we can do is to move forward with our heads held high and educate ourselves with the blunders that to make us wiser.
Anne Hathaway does satin Prada. But people in Twitter has MORE in their minds than the see-through gown! Eeek!
With ex-fiance, the Italian conman, Raffaello Follieri.
With Adam Shulman, the newly-wed husband.
Best Director goes to Ang Lee via “The Life Of Pi” -of which I think he deserved it for the beautiful craft of visualization adaptation from the novel! Forget about the almost-Oscar incident of Ben Affleck; it’s sad but it happened. Although I can’t deny he did look GOOD in the scene snippets of his Best Picture “Argo”; but hey…life goes on. Congratulations to both Lee and Affleck!
Ang Lee; winning his second Oscar, beating Steven Spielberg!
Ben Affleck seek revenge for being snubbed from Oscar nomination. At least, his film, “Argo” won Best Picture!
Daniel Day-Lewis secured his 3rd Oscar via his method-acting portrayal of Abraham Lincoln via “Lincoln”. Personally, I can’t wait to see this movie as I love history and Oscar-worth masterpiece! And looking forward for Sally Field in the movie, too- she’s been nominated as the Best Actress In Supporting Role but keep losing to Hathaway. Oh, well.
Daniel Day-Lewis securing his 3rd Oscar! Best Actor.
Mychale Danna won Best Original Score (I have to say the Indian music was so soothing; I knew the moment I watched the film that the music was something extraordinary and visually magnificent although on whole, the narration was somewhat lukewarm)!! Unfortunately, too bad that his composition of “Pi’s Lullaby” sung by Bombay Jayashri didn’t make it because I thought her voice was so haunting in the movie – instead it was Adele’s “Skyfall” won the Best Original Music!! And that meant that Adele is already an Oscar winner!!!!! O.M.G!!!! (just add a little bit of drama, Haha!).
Mychael Danna won Best Original Score for “Life Of Pi”.
Adele won an Oscar for “Skyfall” – Best Original Music!
“Brave” by PIXAR Animation won Best Animated Feature (yeah!) and Disney’s short film “Paperman” won Best Short Film (Animation)! These are the two films I was rooting for; so, it was kinda cool to know they won the accolades. You can check my entry on “Brave” on 12th July 2012 at here : https://undomiel84.wordpress.com/2012/07/12/zealous-phase-in-teachers-calendar-part-iii-aerobic-1murid-1sukan-1malaysia-the-power-of-mothers-love-disneys-pixar-brave-premiere-sisters-a-pregger-missing-beloved/ and entry on “Paperman” at here : https://undomiel84.wordpress.com/2012/12/12/jitra-kedah-exploring-nature-in-bukit-wang-dynamite-all-stars-disneys-wreck-it-ralph-premiere/. Yeeeeha! (,”).
Disney’s “Brave” as Best Animated Feature Picture!
Jennifer Lawrence finally cemented her presence in the Hollywood radar as force to be reckoned with. For God sake, she has just won Best Actress in the Oscar. She somehow tripped over her Dior dress but pulled herself back. Well, she’s lucky this time that Meryl Streep ain’t in the category. Nobody beats the divine Meryl Streep! Hahaha!
Disney’s “Paperman” won Best Shortfilm (Animated). Short, corny but sweet. (,”)
Jennifer Lawrence almost tripped her Dior gown in anxiety and excitement. She is 2013’s Best Actress!
No sight of Angie and Pitt. They only attend the award shows if one of them is being nominated & always one year they come; one year they absent. So…… Angie still rocks. I love her. Always my inspiration. The bond of Gemini? Hahhaa, you betcha! Anyway, that’s a wrap-up from the biggest night in Tinseltown, Hollywood.
Her Royal Highness Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco when she won Oscar for Best Actress in 1955 for “The Country Girl”. She was wearing Edith Head, dubbed as the most expensive gown at that time. The epitome of glamorous.
