Just as I thought that the B’day affairs has finally draw the curtains down, another pleasant surprise came knocking the door! This time it’s definitely a worthwhile finale – from my dear 5 Dynamic 2013! Oh, my…. amidst all these chaotic hullabaloos of Sports Day event, they managed to squeeze time to do this “surprise party”!!!! I am deeply touched and moved.
Thank you so much my pupils; 5 Dynamic 2013! I love y’all. Thanks to the group Secret for this lovely card.
As the emcee for SK Serendah Sports Day 2013. With co-emcee, Cikgu Khaliesa.
Today is actually the 13th annual Sports Day of SK Serendah, for the 2013 session. And this year I have been elected as the Master of Ceremony to replace the initial people selected who can’t make it due to some “eleventh-hour-setback”. Anyway, I have no qualm on helping my other colleagues to alleviate the process; so by accepting the role without much ‘demands’, it is my little way of helping my colleagues who are trying so hard to put the event altogether. As a family of colleagues, one must help each other, no?
My boisterous but reliable monitor Amer & assistant monitor, the sweet Saswani. (,”) Wa’azin looked from afar… the talkative one. Hahahaha!
The kids at 5 Dynamic, 2013!
So, like usual, I prepared the script for the formal section and was given a new partner, Cikgu Khaliesa as the co-MC. I have no problem gelling with people, so it was a breeze. Nevertheless, the flow of the event was somehow topsy-turvy and as the MCs, we were having difficult time to do our tasks because the prize-giving ceremonies were often collided with the track events; you can imagine that while prizes were given, the events were held! It was a madness! And as the MCs, we ourselves had to figure out who were the VIPs who were supposed to give out the prize when it was actually not supposed to be our decisions. And the communication with the walkie-talkie were not much of help either as the atmosphere in the main tent was NOISY and the sport officers were “rogering” me- much with unclear communication!! So, when we as the Mcs were slammed because of these setbacks NOT DUE TO OUR OWN FAULTY; now that really ignited the volcano!!!! Sigh… but of course like what the GPK Ko-Kurikulum said, this is Sports Day, after all. You can’t expect perfection in these kind of events, no? But, you just can’t blame us the MCs if we slammed back all the unnecessary messy orders because when you have 10 bullets of commands pointing at you, definitely we went BERSERK! Well, it is what it is – “Saya Menurut Perintah”. Kudos to all colleagues!
Thanks so much, kids!
Anyway, after the continuous 4 hours talking non-stop (tiring!), the 5 Dynamic kids were excited to ask me to go to our class. Initially, they told me that they wanted to held a discussion at school yesterday; I didn’t come because I went to Putrajaya to see Raees as he is infected with Dysentery (poor him!). Kak Lin who happened to be in the school was curious about the commotion of 5 Dynamic pupils, coming to school to arrange tables and all and messaged me if I did ask them to clean the class whatsoever.
Hahhahaa.. after “smacked” by the flour. The kids were hesitant at first. They asked if it was OK for them to throw the flour… I thought “what the heck”; after all, they had put so much efforts in doing this party; just let down the hair! Hahahahha!
So after the sports day event, Zuhaili escorted me up to the class with Safaiz waiting at the staircase; asking to blindfold me!!!! Oh, my! I felt like playing “Hide-and-Seek”. I was actually feeling a bit lethargic because I barely eat or drink anything for the last 4 hours emceeing and to be blindfolded was another dizzying thing to do. So there I was, walking blindfolded, taken by Safaiz and Zuhaili.
The Musical Chairs. Wow, I feel like a kid…… Hahahhahaha!
And then…… SURPRISE!!!!!!!!! Wow! The kids put balloons and there was even a cake on the assembled tables (these were the tables saw by Teacher Azlin! Hahahhaa!) and a few drinks and junk food! Oh, my!!! Of course, as cliche as I was, my eyes nearly watered (awww, shucks! Hehee!). I was so exhausted and my voice gone coarse but everything disappeared. I was truly, truly moved.
Having the biggest ass in the class (oopps, mind the word! Hahaha!); of course I won the first round. Hahhaa.. Waazin, the talkative boy was adamant that he won the chair over me! Hahaha… ooops! (,”) I am glad seeing the kids were all having fun!
They even had these cards and presents (which they didn’t have to; like really!) and were excited to have games of “Musical Chair”. Honestly, I was feeling very tired but because of them, I succumbed. AND, they even had flour. Initially, they were a bit hesitated about the flour; they even asked my permission – just as I gave them the greenlight – Woooohooooo!!!!! Everyone took the opportunity to throw flour at me! Hhahahahahaa! Well, I am a stern teacher alright but I guess once a while, just let the hair loose. After all, they had been putting great efforts to conduct this!
TQ so much to my sweet Assistant Monitor, Saswani as well as her group – Club Flower Girl : Mas Hani, Syahira, Adani & Fatin for initiating the simple-but-nice “surprise” party.
Next, they even performed a musical dance with the “Terima Kasih Guru” sing-a-long. So touching. I recorded the video but was too ashamed to upload it because I HATE seeing myself in videos! Hahaha! And then, we played the “Musical Chairs”. It was kinda fun being kid; again. Hhahahaa!
TQ so much to Fantastic Science for the wonderful card and gift!
On whole, thanks again, kids! My class 5 Dynamic for 2013, thanks so much. It’s been an honor to teach you all and to be able to be the class teacher. And of course, there will always be all those scolding and nagging and spanking (hahahhaa!) but I want you all to know that I do them because I want you all to become better persons – not only to absorp knowledge but also to respect teachers, peers, parents and everyone. Thanks so much. I love y’all form the bottom of my heart. Amin.
The coffee cake. Thanks kids! Although I am not a cake lover but I am touched. Really. Oh my…. thanks so much!
The flour treat! Hahhaa… well, you don’t have to use the far-fetched Tanaka Powder (Nora Danish endorsed product that created much hype amongst the cosmetic aficionado) no more, aite? Flour make a good talcum to smooth your skin! Hahhahaha!
This beautiful song with beautiful lyrics by Siti Nurhaliza entitled “Seindah Biasa” (The Beautiful Ordinary) speaks what I feel inside to my pupils. Thanks so much. I will try my best to give you my very best effort in teaching and imparting knowledge to you all. Amin. Thanks, kids! Definitely, this year birthday is all about loves. I am honoured and touched. *Sniff*
Ku tak bisa merubah yang telah terjadi
Tapi aku akan menjanjikan yang terbaik
Agar kita tak pernah menjadi jauh
Meski beza dermaga untuk kita berlabuh
Takkan mungkin kita bertahan
Hidup dalam bersendirian
Panas terit hujan badai
Kita lalui bersama
Saat hilang arah tujuan
Kau tahu ke mana berjalan
Meski terang meski gelap
Kita lalui bersama
