So, today is the last day of Ramadhan 2013. I am in Jitra, Kedah now for my 2 weeks holidays cum the Raya Holidays. To reflect on this one whole month of Ramadhan; it has been a blessed one and I am thankful to ALLAH SWT that my tonsils are behaving very good despite the fact that fasting means I lack water and juicy substances. Unlike in 2010 when I first encountered the wrath of Tonsilitis, this year proves to be a breeze. Alhamdulillah!
This year, I am bringing my two cats that Kak Mawar gave to me – Duchess & Oscar (I haven’t write about them yet. Soon!) because I thought that giving the cats hotel amount tantamount to RM300++ (well, one cat is charged RM12 per day; you do the maths for 14 days/2 weeks!) is considerably pricey – so, the idea was to bringing the cats back to Jitra! Hahaha!
My cam-whore mood prior to mosque for Tarawikh. The 28th & 29th (the last night) Tarawikh for 2013 in Masjid Al-A’la, Jitra!
In the midst of busy professional life and lay-back personal life (due to Ramadhan), I have managed to enter the new surah in Miftahul Qulub recital -namely, Surah Al-A’raf (The Heights) which is the 7th chapter in Miftahul Qulub Al-Quran. I admit that I don’t read it daily in consistent way but Alhamdulillah at least within a week, I will make effort to recite 2 or 3 pages. Slowly wins the race? Insya ALLAH.
The Ramadhan Bazar in Taman Suria, Jitra – which happens to be in front of my parents’ house, Taman Suria 3. A long stretch of stalls. Probably one of the longest in Malaysia? LOL!
A rather slow recital. A page by page. So far, still at Al-A’raf (The Heights) – the Chapter 7. From my very own Miftahul Qulub/Al-Quran.
Apart from that, I have also bought some cookies/”Kuih Raya” for my Mak. These days, she hardly does the “Kuih Raya” anymore. Well, time passes by and both her children grow up, aite? I forgot the names of the cookies but all of them I bought from my colleagues; 2 containers from Kak Idah Haidin & 4 containers from Kak Non! Well, there goes my respective RM44 + RM72 = RM 116!!! Hahhaa… they are ain’t that bad. I prefer cookies in comparison to cakes, though.
They look so colourful and delicious, ain’t it? Waiting to be devoured and savoured. (,”)
I think every Moslems will experience the melancholic sentiment when Ramadhan is drawing its curtains. Will we been given another chance by God SWT to experience another Ramadhan? What if our lives are taken before we have the chance? It is perchance that we are to have another opportunity to “top up” our lackadaisical attitudes on Ibadah and upgrade ourselves? Only ALLAH SWT knows. The secrets of ALLAH SWT. Amin. Hopefully this year’s Aidilfitri brings me happiness, Insya ALLAH. Amin, amin, amin.
