I am here in Campsie, Sydney Australia now as I am finalizing this entry. I resided in Desasiswa Aman Damai, USM throughout my 2-days Penang Bridge Run. It feels good to be back in one of the students’ residence – all thanks to Kitty Kat for her influence and help from her coach Jega! Anyway, today we all had fun as Doncha Club – plus Khirwan (I called him) exploring Penang on our already exhausting capacities; but hey, just cherish the existing opportunity, innit? (,”)
So today, we had breakfast at Pelita USM and chatted until 11.30 a.m and then off to Queensbay Mall area so that Kat and Efy could collect their t-shirts while my t-shirt was already delivered to the school (I used school’s address!) earlier this month! It was really hot perhaps because of Penang being a tropical island! It was thronged with people! And I have to say it was nice to feast the eyes with heavenly bodies walking around (Hahhahaah! Being kinky flirty! LOL!).
At Pelita in front of USM!
After that, we had lunch at Kapitan Restaurant and feasted on the delicious Chicken Briyani (My Next Couzy Darweena and Kak Bujie first brought me there during my Penang vacation on June; refer to https://undomiel84.wordpress.com/2013/06/06/the-29th-bday-episode-iii-standing-on-the-sun-eat-love-pray-history-penang-island/). I vouched the Briyani as one of the best ever! Love the food.
One for the nostalgia. Us and Khirwan!
Next, Efi & Kat were adamantly wanting to hunt the famous Ais Kacang at Lebuh Keng Kwee circa Penang Road! So off we went there and then walked there from Lebuh Argyll way passed the Chorawsta and let Efi and Kat feasted their Ais Kacang! Finally, we went to Gurney Paragorn Mall (the new mall beside Gurney Plaza) which is very spacious ( I like it!) and just hanged out there and then strolled along the Gurney Drive under the willowy Casuarina trees! We ended up the day with Pasar Malam Sungai Dua, in front of USM. Splendid Penangite feel, y’all!

Very Addam’s Family-feel mansion. At Gurney Drive! Love this.
On the next day, Sunday 17th November; we woke up around 5.30 a.m. (YES! Cars were thronging; we needed to secure carpark!) and arrived there around 6.30 a.m. There were hundreds of people and it was a nice seeing people coming all over Malaysia (and globe!) for the event. Around 7.00 a.m the Fun Run was started BUT we were left behind because we were waiting for Efi’s turn to use the toilet (unfortunately, other person had been using it too long!). So, we ran all the way to the starting point AND continuously run for the Fun Run! Hahhaa! But it was lay-back one; we talked and goofed and snapped pictures! Hahahha! But along the way, we saw an old woman who was so determine and focus doing brisk-walking. We stooped and goofed around and then saw her ahead of us! We sped off ahead of her and then goofed around again…there, she was ahead of us; AGAIN! Hahhaa..finally we thought… Por Por (“Grandma” in Chinese), you win! Hahhaa!
The Fun Run!
We hanged out for a while looking for free food and drink (MILO!) and then so happened that an FB acquaintance, Junaidi Raidys (not sure about the last name) hollered me. Initially I was stupefied because the profile picture was different (it was Jack Sparrow) and then, I recognized. Just had a small talk (I was a bit tired; sorry for not being chatty). And then went back to USM for a bath.
Around 12.50 p.m., Kat and Efi sent me to Penang International Airport for my 1.55 p.m. flight! I had a great time, Doncha Club! Miss you guys.
Doncha! Efi, Kat & I.
