In a few hours, 2013 will be leaving and 2014 will emerge. Pondering back, there are so many ups and down that I have gone through for the past one year. This blog has witnessed all those etchings and has been my solace in as I thread along this lane called life. It is beautiful, life is – but also undeniably, a multifaceted.
This year, my family has received a new additional member; it is my second nephew, Raess Nafiz who was born on 1st February 2013 (REFER TO : https://undomiel84.wordpress.com/2013/02/01/be-and-it-is-kun-faya-kun-welcoming-new-munchkin-in-family-an-nur-specialist-hospital-bandar-baru-bangi/). After 7 years, Rifqi has a baby brother! Around March, it was really a heart-wrenching scene to witness Malaysian soldiers killed by the Sulu terrorists at Lahad Datu, Sabah! It was really a chaotic atmosphere there. Al-Fatihah to the deceased warriors of the nation (REFER TO: https://undomiel84.wordpress.com/2013/03/10/the-bloodshed-of-malaysian-defensing-lines-the-martyrs-our-lahad-datu-attack-by-the-sulu-terrorist/). In the middle of May 2013, Malaysia had its 13th General Election and it was my first time voting; so I was really excited (REFER TO :https://undomiel84.wordpress.com/2013/05/05/the-malaysian-13th-general-election-part-i-sacrificing-my-virginity-of-ignorance/ ) travelling all the way from Selangor back to Kedah! I also had two reunions with old friends; which I was really satisfied to be able to join because I am always a sociable and friendly person who never shy away from friends; but I have to say that there was a dread whether my friends changed into snobbish aliens or not (due to past experience with an old friend!) :

Around June 2013, Malaysia experienced bad haze due to the forest burning at Sumatera, Indonesia which affected ASEAN countries (REFER TO : https://undomiel84.wordpress.com/2013/06/27/the-hazy-asean-polemics-2013-the-tale-of-diplomacy-technology-sensitivity-between-malaysia-singapore-indonesia/).

A surprised Birthday Party!
In terms of my own achievements in 2013, I am happy to say that I grow professionally. I once again contributed to the victory of school Choral Speaking (although 3rd place) by penning the script myself as well as co-coaching it with my Head of English Panel, Kak Wahidah (REFER TO : https://undomiel84.wordpress.com/2013/06/22/my-100-one-heart-one-malaysia-the-choral-speaking-competition-for-hulu-selangor-district-level-2013/). I also actively play MC for various school events and sometimes helping my colleagues in their events as well. I also felt that I did a commendable job as class teacher for 5 Dynamic 2013 by bonding with them (although I am strict) and felt so touched when they conducted a surprised party for me! (REFER TO : https://undomiel84.wordpress.com/2013/07/07/the-29th-bday-episode-ix-from-5-dynamic-2013-with-love/).
Be patient, The Heart. One day. Amin.
But of course, there are things that didn’t go as per planned. Initially, I was really anticipating of performing “Umrah” this year but proved to no avail. The first problem jeopardizing the cashflow was that I had to use the money to pay my house lawyers circa February (REFER TO : https://undomiel84.wordpress.com/2013/02/06/the-bride-of-the-red-sea-episode-vii-the-ambitious-glassheart-is-broken-cashflow-rhapsody/). My heart shattered as it ruined the whole system of planning. And then, planning to go for the end-of-the-year but Kakak had an idea of bringing Mak & Ayah abroad.
With Ayah & Mak.
Financially, I was stable at that time and I could sponsor tickets for both my parents as Kakak sponsored her own family. I had dilemma whether to use the money for “umrah” or to make my parents happy and taste a new experience abroad (apart from Makkah, they never been anywhere). After much deliberation, I felt that I would invest on bringing my parents abroad. So, we chose Sydney, Australia (haven’t complete the last part of blogging but you can REFER TO : https://undomiel84.wordpress.com/2013/11/19/filial-piety-of-aurora-australis-part-i-campsie-street-sydney-suburb/). In the end, I was satisfied for being able to sponsor them abroad and to witness Australian iconic emblems such Sydney Harbour Bride & Sydney Opera House. You know, your “rezeki” will keep coming by the grace of your parents’ prayer /Doa. So, there is nothing more blessing that to make them happy as much as you could, no? This is one of my biggest personal achievement for 2013!
It means a lot to be able to bring your parents abroad with your own money. Alhamdulillah. One of my biggest personal achievement for 2013.
But of course, the biggest anticipation would be to see the construction of my house in Batang Kali. Yes, it is not a mansion or double-triple storeys but I couldn’t help but feeling satisfied for able to purchase at least a property under my name. Hopefully by next year, the solace in Tamu Hill 4 will be completed and I can move there, Insya ALLAH!
Hopefully, amin. I will never forget the kindness and love shown in helping me in this process of my own “Castle On The Cloud”, though I may feel a little bit angry (for the moment! Haha!)
In terms of life, yes, I am always grateful with whatever and whoever I have in this life. I know that sometimes we argue, we bicker, we feel frustrated due to unconscious act between us; but yes, I do feel grateful. 4-5 years is not a blink of an eye. Hopefully as I am reaching 30 years old, I can be less-sensitive and age with dignity and gracefully. Amin.
That is the secret to age gracefully. Amin.
