I am now at the Graduate Wing in UPM, waiting for the rain to cease. I was shocked to find out that the anti-Malaysian sentiment has gone viral throughout China and the sparks are affecting our Malaysian little ambassadors there – not to say some unexpected statements made by the Chinese celebrities!
Use your brain and sensitivity, Zhang Zi Yi!!!!! Damn you!
Chinese people in China are known for being emotional. They thought only they lose the lives. But what about the Malaysians who also experienced the loss? It is not OUR fault; we worked together with YOUR government to corroborate data and findings!! ASK your government if they have anything hidden rather than blaming us!!!
I just hope that Datuk Michelle Yeoh teaches Zhang Zi Yi some lesson for her insolent mouth! A Wushu sword, Michelle!
I used to like Zhang Zi Yi. I have to say she was one of my most favourite Chinese actress, from the “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” and then 4 years later to see her improving her English via “Memoirs Of A Geisha”. And then when she was rumoured to be having affair with one of Chinese’s high official rank, I was like “No Way.” BUT, today when I read her statement via Weibo which was translated by Yahoo! (What can you expect? Yahoo! also has antagonistic approach to Malaysia), I feel like slapping her (!!!) :-
“The Malaysian government has offended the world! We are looking for the airplane but you are more concerned about timing. Malaysian government, today you have done wrong. You are wrong failing to take responsibility. You are wrong for prioritising political manoeuvres instead of respecting life. You are wrong for failing to respect the universal.. quest for truth.”
Seriously??????? Sorry Zhang Zi Yi, you have LOST A FAN. No wonder Chinese people thought you are having affair with the ministers, etc. I just hope that Datuk Michelle Yeoh gives her a smack and showed her to hold her tongue and THINK before saying anything! Grrr!
Shila Amzah’s Weibo acocunt (if I am not mistaken) garnered more than 14,000 responses.
Now, this sentiment is also affecting our local songbird who is gradually to carve singing career in China. Shila Amzah even posted a status to counterback the sentiment by clarifying that MH370 is beyond her control. And this also is affecting other Malaysian artistes who have become household names for quite sometimes in China, Taiwan & Hong Kong such as Fish Leong, Ah Niu, Gary Chaw and also the Alor Star born “The Eyes” star, Angel Lee Sinjee (I saw her in an Air Asia flight in Alor Star couple of years back!).
Angel Lee Sinje.
Certainly, I pray for the safety of all Malaysians in China. This is a testament that we, Malaysians are stronger. We lost families, we lost husbands, we lost wives, we lost children in MH370; and we are shouldered to find the needle in haystack; but we remain calm. Because we still hope for miracle. And we know that things happen – especially when ‘Superpowers Are Behind This”. But, we remain calm as we believed in God and for Moslems, it is “Qada’ Wa Qadar”. That is the strength of Malaysians!
