On Saturday, I decided to proceed with the neutering process of Duchess after several ‘put-on-halt’ moments due to my hectic schedule. I thought that this was a crucial time as Duchess beginning to demonstrate some “on heat” signs, signalling that she is ready to mate; procreate; having sex or getting fucked – whichever terms you prefer! As the owner, I can’t afford for more kittens and certainly I won’t have the heart to cast them away, isn’t it?
So, as usually I went to Klinik Verteriner & Surgeri PC at Taman Hijau, Rawang of where Oscar also got neutered (REFER to : https://undomiel84.wordpress.com/2014/02/27/castrating-the-feline-part-i-oscar-the-eunuch-male/). For those who are still battling with the dilemma whether neutering cats in Islam is prohibited or not, do check my previous writing on castrating Oscar. As it is for the win-win situation (maslahah) for both owner and the pets, it is considered as “Harus”.

Anyway lately, Duchess and the rest of the cats including the young kitties were beginning to sneak out from the storeroom via the jagged windowpanes and they somehow knew how to manouver and open the already-loose windowpanes! I was petrified and hysterical because I didn’t want Duchess to roam around to mate but apparently according to The Vet, she actually did mate with some anonymous male cats already as when he cut through the ovaries, there were quite a lot of blood of which probably indicated that zygotes already created!! Well, no wonder that Duchess seemed a bit recluse after the escapade. Probably that her lust was already fulfilled!
For a Greater Good, sacrifices must be made. I am sorry, Duchess but it’s for our good.
I was a bit guilty when I saw Duchess’s body due to the spaying process but it was for the best. Duchess has always been a stronger cat in comparison to Oscar, who always fell sick. I hope she recovered soon and the process shall be done to the rest of the 3 kitties – Muezza, Sagwa & Crookshanks who are now entering 4 months – should be no sooner before they start to show signs to mate!
